Posted by CityBlogWA on May 28th, 2007

Gig Harbor has a lot of real estate companies. Which one is considered the best company according the Gig Harbor, Washington residents? Who are the best real estate agents in Gig Harbor, Washington? Historically, which company has been there the longest? Do any of the real estate companies also have title and mortgage companies?

I personally think that the choice is about the Real Estate Agent, not the company. Most RE Companies are corporate and the agents are considered/treated as employees vs. self-employed free agents.

I think the public needs to ask what they want out of the sale of their home. A well known company name does not necessarily mean a moral/ethical company.

1st and foremost is always for the home to sell—I think the public in general is over inundated with information that confuses the public more …

Hire an agent that is savvy and knows his/her market and the conditions then sellers please, listen to what the agent is telling you when they make suggestions for you to improve your homes selling value and market time.

Hiring an agent is ALWAYS the best way to sell your home–please do not think you can sell your home yourself just because your attorney can review a contract. Typically what I see is the attorney is not familiar with RE law and knows nothing about the process other than telling you whether or not the contract is legal—and if an agent is involved with any FSBO sale, the agent knows this. You may think you are saving yourself $3000+ but if it’s a savvy agent bringing a buyer to your home; remember, the agent represents the buyer and you don’t know what you are doing and neither does your attorney. If the sale closes the agent will probably end up squeezing more money from you because you were not represented; or the sale will be double the work for the agent–which oftentimes it’s not worth all the extra work and all parties decide to shop elsewhere. Agents are under no obligation to show a FSBO home.

In the long run, a savvy agent will always save you money and even more importantly a potential lawsuit.
